I love to have fun with paper, food, paint, music and events and just being creative in all of it. However, I don't feel the need to be a perfectionist nor a professional in any of my creations. I wish I could have a blog JUST about the art of cooking, photography, sewing, art, mothering, jewelry making, card making, dancing, gardening, deep spiritual thoughts, decorating, poetry, party planning, baking.... and the list goes on but I can't. I don't think I was created with the ability to focus on one task. I like all of these hobbies layed out before me and the freedom to pick whatever I choose depending on the mood or time I have.

Creative but Simple Fourth of July: Flowers, Fruit and Cupcakes

Having fun with different shades of red and blue for our fourth!  This year I decided to go with the less traditional colors and instead used turquoise and deep fuschia.  I was suprised how well the colors combined. The flower arrangement has various shades of red and fuschia to bring it all together.  The Star Fruit Bowl above, I got the idea from my weekly recipes that Betty Crocker sends. You can subscribe for free on their website to get their dinner ideas once a week at http://www.bettycrocker.com/ . I just happen to find my star cupcake molds this week and decided to put them to use and whipped up some Star Spangled Cupcakes.  I used a vanilla cake mix and followed the directions on the box. Then I drizzled some yummy Cream Cheese Yogurt sauce over it and topped it with blue berries and strawberries. I drizzled strawberry syrup to a white plate to make an artsy edible creation. The Creamy Yogurt sauce is 1.5cps of vanilla yogurt and 1/2 cp of softened cream cheese, 3tbspns of sugar mixed all together.
