<br /></div>
<br />
This Cinco de Mayo Toddler Activity was perfect for my little guy. I am really enjoying toilet paper printing for little ones. The tp roll is the perfect size for their little hands. Not only will they get some history from the Mexican flag activity but they will also get to practice their colors.<br />
<br />
Flags hold so much culture and symbolism and usually we know very little about why. Do you know why your birth country chose it's colors? It's emblem? <br />
<br />
<strong>The symbolism and legend of the Mexican flag colors and emblem:</strong><br />
<br />
The colors are symbolic of- <br />
Green- the independent movement, <br />
White- the purity of the Catholic faith<br />
Red- The blood of the national heroes. <br />
<br />
The legend of the emblem:<br />
<span style="color: #666666; font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"> <span style="font-size: small;"> "According to a beautiful legend, the gods had advised the <i><b>Aztecs</b></i>
that the place where they should establish their city was to be identified when
they saw an eagle, perched on a prickly pear tree, devouring a serpent. They
saw this mythical eagle on a marshy lake that is now the <i><b>zócalo</b></i> or
main plaza in Mexico City. </span></span><o:p><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: #666666;">This </span><b style="color: #666666;">flag</b><span style="color: #666666;"> was created in 1821, when the Independence movement had ended
victoriously." </span></span></o:p><br />
<o:p><span style="font-family: Arial;"><span style="color: #666666;">via Inside-Mexico.com</span></span></o:p><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGC_zgyjs9FImS1kPZQEhKk9C_P4evqWrfwWNJ-eMx045U1NSWUmy2TLv9Qrd-YudWr6xVlzZ-_hOu-MCheJ2d-VmJnNX2PX4i26AS9arpX5GR34YLod9VP0h-vu2RvTXJREJNp_xv0wqQ/s1600/IMG_4013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGC_zgyjs9FImS1kPZQEhKk9C_P4evqWrfwWNJ-eMx045U1NSWUmy2TLv9Qrd-YudWr6xVlzZ-_hOu-MCheJ2d-VmJnNX2PX4i26AS9arpX5GR34YLod9VP0h-vu2RvTXJREJNp_xv0wqQ/s640/IMG_4013.JPG" width="426" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
You can print out the actual flag over at <a href="http://www.coloringbook4kids.com/2009/05/bandera-de-mexico-para-colorear.html" target="_blank">Hellokids</a> or you can use a blank piece of white paper as we did and divided it in thirds and then added the eagle in the middle. <br />
<br />
You will need:<br />
<ul>
<li>red and green paint</li>
<li>Mexican flag coloring sheet</li>
<li>toilet paper roll tube</li>
</ul>
1. I had to fold the flag in thirds so that my son wouldn't paint all over the flag.<br />

2. Once it dried we added the eagle.Marihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03043406551075349537noreply@blogger.com31tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3510696073662354086.post-54594982246024737382013-04-03T13:07:00.000-07:002013-04-03T13:14:42.677-07:00Kids Activity: How To Make A VolcanoI have always wanted to make an erupting volcano but never had a chance to. When my son exclaimed that he wanted a, "Dinosaur party," I immediately knew there was going to be an erupting volcano for one of the activities. I shared a few weeks ago how to make a <a href="http://www.amomnotapro.blogspot.com/2013/03/dinosaur-activity-diy-hatching-egg.html" target="_blank">hatching dinosaur egg </a>which was another great hit for our dinosaur activity fun. <br />

The expression on their faces pretty much sums up how much they enjoyed it. I was hoping to make a volcano for each kid to take home as a party favor but I was limited on time so we went with just one volcano. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It's really easy using air dry clay and having the bottle as a base instead of trying to get it to stand up on its own. </div>

<strong>To make the volcano:</strong></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
1. Flatten out your air dry clay. I used terracotta color b/c that was all I found and I had not desire in painting it. You can buy white and then paint it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
2. Once it's flatten stick it to the bottle and it will air dry right onto the bottle. Do this around the whole bottle and then flatten it out to create a smooth surface for the volcano.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9C-MAP3DJ26pmpI9o2RAju_HfEpDR0Q8vUX2seToXPO5O8AJMmVXV9U64tc_XWDA99eBAJH3WloakGW_VSHUbrClq1g80hg-7DpbcX9JYcqIvUIBLVaRfHfIawF3N4k3mFoKoshzX-Uk6/s1600/IMG_3847.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg9C-MAP3DJ26pmpI9o2RAju_HfEpDR0Q8vUX2seToXPO5O8AJMmVXV9U64tc_XWDA99eBAJH3WloakGW_VSHUbrClq1g80hg-7DpbcX9JYcqIvUIBLVaRfHfIawF3N4k3mFoKoshzX-Uk6/s400/IMG_3847.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>

3. The bottle creates a base for the eruption solution.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
4. Air dry over night.</div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For the eruption solution:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
1. Take 2 tbl of baking soda and using a funnel drop it in the bottle.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
2. Then add 1/2 cup of vinegar. Notice my bottle is small so it didn't take much for the solution to erupt out of the bottle. If you're using a bigger bottle you will need more baking soda and vinegar.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
We ended our activities with this and it was a big hit! </div>

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq2BRd7HqtRD8DvDXAn-waOHgaz1_ORGQswm3c_OnLbsHXdmec48S4qZsOjciY86I2rdWvh1whTs0950lozeI-qL1fJEZUrUbPBodHfgGvfoeOE6vBVbHPyCWTp-ok1DGQ7H3D5bZocD5-/s1600/monster+pillow+from+baby+blanket.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhq2BRd7HqtRD8DvDXAn-waOHgaz1_ORGQswm3c_OnLbsHXdmec48S4qZsOjciY86I2rdWvh1whTs0950lozeI-qL1fJEZUrUbPBodHfgGvfoeOE6vBVbHPyCWTp-ok1DGQ7H3D5bZocD5-/s640/monster+pillow+from+baby+blanket.jpg" width="475" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I turned one of my boy's baby blanket into a keepsake pillow. If you're looking for my ideas to preserve your baby items here's a great article: <a href="http://inspiredbyfamilymag.com/2013/03/09/6-creative-ways-to-preserve-baby-memories/" target="_blank">6 Creative Ways to Preserve Baby Items</a>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We have tons of blankets from when they were little and I was trying to figure out how to put them to good use. Especially since some of them have some sentimental value. Since my son has nose bleeds I decided the best thing to do was make it into a pillow case.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
He loves collecting things so we put a pocket in it. The mouth is a pocket. He absolutely loves it. For the first 2 months he want it with him every where now it just stays on his bed. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFoPGrhUWFCZ6gx5Z2NJuyEUUkyv2Zecy78cHTLADwyZEStLC9jo2_w2BI8eIJ-QJ5DrfyJ4_yEHsTQP1DYlowmev6PSl4w_h5YUsrtOSAji1HBenXM-zcHTVHyq9EasNExdS17Iv4-UFn/s1600/IMG_8752.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFoPGrhUWFCZ6gx5Z2NJuyEUUkyv2Zecy78cHTLADwyZEStLC9jo2_w2BI8eIJ-QJ5DrfyJ4_yEHsTQP1DYlowmev6PSl4w_h5YUsrtOSAji1HBenXM-zcHTVHyq9EasNExdS17Iv4-UFn/s400/IMG_8752.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
How to:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I just folded the baby blanket in half and sewed around 2 sides of the blanket for a pillow case but for a pillow sew all three sides. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I used sturdy fabric glue to glue on the eyes, mouth and teeth. The mouth is actually a pocket, at my sons request.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUnMSAtJt-Ur7vQ3qebyGrGoRPVeVP6kG-5wHRHx4nD_msj69pEC5Xbqw8sNStTMwH4GubfP7XbZ7s0XldSy79yQFl0kWtg8e-ueqBsROWeH9mVrIGlSyCHNsyz-2MhHBz7gvlRaZWq0-_/s1600/IMG_8751.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="269" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUnMSAtJt-Ur7vQ3qebyGrGoRPVeVP6kG-5wHRHx4nD_msj69pEC5Xbqw8sNStTMwH4GubfP7XbZ7s0XldSy79yQFl0kWtg8e-ueqBsROWeH9mVrIGlSyCHNsyz-2MhHBz7gvlRaZWq0-_/s320/IMG_8751.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I sewed on the red hair. You can sew the whole pillow instead of gluing it. But I had a long list of stocking stuffer gifts to make for my family so I glued as much as I could. It took me about 20 minutes to make this. </div>

<br />
This is definitely a win-win recipe not only do you get hours of fun with play dough and you also get to eat it. I will be sharing with you two activities to have fun with this play dough at <a href="http://inspiredbyfamilymag.com/" target="_blank">Inspired by Family</a> our <a href="http://inspiredbyfamilymag.com/2013/01/25/party-favor-play-dough-in-a-cupcake-jar/#" target="_blank">Play Dough in a Jar Cupcake Fun</a> and at <a href="http://spanglishbaby.com/" target="_blank">Spanglish Baby</a> our Your Very Own Chocolate Factory craft.<br />
<br />
Now you don't have to tell your kids not to stick that in their mouth or not to play with their food. They can actually eat this and play with it. <br />
<br />
<strong>Edible Chocolate Play Dough</strong><br />
Ingredients:<br />
<br />
3-4 cps powdered sugar<br />
3/4 cp cream cheese<br />
3/4 cp powdered milk<br />
1/2 cp Cocoa powder (baking kind)<br />
<br />
Mix ingredient in a bowl. You don't want it to have a sticky consistency so start with 3 cups of sugar and if it's still sticky add a some sugar or milk powder.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLILgoYKBPvGvjJKtUzSOscZh9YMoyhr__EUE3molmC8uRsqlpgVPNDJwI3vjD6XkoP-ZbwuhLgQ-saXcxiHNb-IlrAtyZ8on8mjbjl6ZY0fxG389c2-_p3NLEgrZaMCzn3ukhucTU7t4Q/s1600/IMG_0609.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="476" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLILgoYKBPvGvjJKtUzSOscZh9YMoyhr__EUE3molmC8uRsqlpgVPNDJwI3vjD6XkoP-ZbwuhLgQ-saXcxiHNb-IlrAtyZ8on8mjbjl6ZY0fxG389c2-_p3NLEgrZaMCzn3ukhucTU7t4Q/s640/IMG_0609.JPG" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
My son is two and we made it together. He got to put the ingredients in and mix it and of course make a mess. Note he wass wearing an apron and the bowl we used was large. <br />

<br />
In the past month we have had quite the dentist appointments for my boys so this got me thinking about the Tooth Fairy. It's looking like one of them will have metal in his near future.<br />
<br />
I shared about our Tooth Fairy Traditions <a href="http://inspiredbyfamilymag.com/2013/01/16/12-tooth-fairy-ideas-and-traditions/" target="_blank">here</a> and how we not only celebrate the Tooth Fairy but we also get our little mouse friend from my Hispanic background. Since reading <a href="http://renecolatolainez.com/" target="_blank">The Tooth Fairy Meets El Raton Perez</a> by Rene Colato Lainez, a fun read for children, it has inspired me to bridge both of our cultures with the tooth fairy tradition. We shared with our boys that "we" are the tooth fairy just like we did with Santa Claus but in both situations they still want to play along like there is a Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus and we don't mind playing along with them.<br />
<br />
When it finally dawned on me, that not everyone has the tooth fairy (duh), I wanted to make a neutral printable to fit with any culture and one for those who have the Tooth Fairy and El Raton Perez (Latin America and Spain celebrate with El Raton Perez) and the French also have a mouse but his name is La Petite Souris. I know many countries just throw their tooth up on the roof or place it in interesting places so hopefully one of these printables will be able to work with your tradition. <br />

<strong>Tooth Fairy Receipts in Different Languages</strong><br />
<br />
Here's one for those who are in bi-cultural English speaking families: The Tooth Fairy and El Raton Perez. To print just right click on image and copy and paste into your document.<br />

This recycled Snowman Craft is perfect to make ahead and use to place forks, spoons, straws for a party. Or fill them up with new pencils and pens for your child's teacher. <br />
<br />
We used it for our Neighborhood Tree Decorating Party. Our neighborhood has a tree decorating party for all the kids every year. They decorate the GIANT Pine tree located in the neighborhood park. Each child is asked to bring a recycled ornament to add to the tree. This was our first time doing this so I had no idea that we were decorating a GIANT Christmas tree and that we would ride a crane up to hand our ornament. It was a lot of fun for the boys and even more fun to see it hanging everytime we go by. <br />

<br />
I am fascinated by snowmen crafts, ornaments and figurines. But who can pass up an adorable Frosty the snowman treat at a holiday party?<br />
<br />
This is perfect to make for a party of one, your little one or for a holiday gathering. If you can find white chocolate dipped cookies already covered that is even better. This is what I use and this party treat is whipped up in less then 5 minutes.<br />
<br />
You will need baby food jar, punch or milk, ribbon, chocolate covered cookie, chocolate morsels for the face and candy corn for the nose or any other kind of soft orange candy. <br />
<br />
I use corn syrup as my edible "glue" when making fun treats. Add a dab of it on your mouth, nose and eyes. Then cut out a hat from black construction paper and tape on to the back of a straw. Fill your jars up with your drink and tie ribbon around it. Place the straw behind the cookie to hold it up. <br />
Enjoy! This was a big hit when we gifted these to my sons teachers. It's easy to make and it's super yummy! The packaging was also really easy, see below for instructions.<br />
<br />
My husband loves rich hot chocolate. I prefer my hot drinks in form of coffee or tea but when I had a taste of this I seriously wanted more in a large christmas mug.<br />
<br />
So what's in my yummy 3 Ingredient Rich & Creamy Hot Chocolate: Sweet Condensed Milk, Low-fat milk and chocolate chips. See recipe <a href="http://inspiredbyfamilymag.com/2012/02/09/homemade-rich-creamy-hot-chocolate/" target="_blank">here</a>. When you see how easy this is to make you will want to whip up some Hot Chocolate Baskets to everyone: neighbors, school staff, teachers....<br />
<br />
For the packaging I cut out a heart from newspaper. I used bakers twine and wrapped it around a juice bottle and added some bling bling with the LOVE sticker. Fill your bottle with some hot chocolate yumminess and your set. <br />
<br />
You can also make a basket out of this by adding a mug and some homemade chocolate dipped marshmallows that they can stir into the hot chocolate. If you're making this for yourself fill up a mug with this hot deliciousness and top with cool whip and crushed candy canes!<br />
<br />
<div style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px; background-color: white; border-image: initial; border-width: 0px; color: #545454; font-size-adjust: none; font-stretch: normal; font: 12px/18px sans-serif; letter-spacing: normal; margin: 0px 0px 1.2em; orphans: 2; outline-width: 0px; padding: 0px; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; vertical-align: baseline; white-space: normal; widows: 2; word-spacing: 0px;">

<br />
Many of you know that apart from this blog I am the founding editor of Inspired by Family Magazine. Today is our 1 year anniversary so we want to share with you the fun. <br />
A year ago today I kicked off our e-zine on my birthday! (Keep reading for the fabulous giveaway)<br />
<br />
Seriously, I had no idea what I was getting into when I kicked off our e-zine but God gave me the courage to move forward and so I did.
Twelve months later, I am so thankful that I did. This journey has stretched me beyond belief. I have crossed paths with many beautiful and creative bloggers. It has blessed me to read your comments on how something you saw here encouraged you. <br />
<br />
I have also had many challenges along the way. Computer problems that have made me want to throw my laptop out the window with frustration (I am not computer savvy). I have had the challenge to learn how to juggle life: family time, me time, God time and writing time. Learning how to rejoice with other bloggers in their accomplishments and not to be overcome with envy. Learning about working with brands and get noticed by them. Trying to figure out all the social networks out there, which there are too many for this old lady to keep up with. Also, trying to figure out magazine page layouts, photography, website design and so much more. All of this has stretched me in ways beyond my imagination and I have grown in leaps and bounds as a person, a mother, a wife, a friend, a counselor, a missionary, an entrepeneur, a photographer.... <br />
<br />
So I am thankful for this journey I have embarked on and I am mostly thankful that I don't walk it alone!
I encourage you to dream and live out your hearts passion that honor your family, God and yourself. Sometimes our dreams are put on hold because the phase of life we are in and the responsibilities we have but whatever you do, don't let that keep you from dreaming. Instead baby step towards your dream and find small ways for your creative outlets.
You can stop by and read it in full over <a href="http://inspiredbyfamilymag.com/2012/11/17/holiday-gift-guide-for-kids/" target="_blank">here</a>. <br />
<h3 style="text-align: center;">

<br />
Starting at the end of October we have this family tradition in our home. We talk about what were thankful for that day and then I write one of those things down, that we each share on our pumpkin. Last year we used 2 pumpkins one with COUNT YOUR BLESSING written on it and the other smaller one had our thankful comments on it. We start from the center and then we go around it with our thankful things until it's completely covered with our blessings. I just used a black sharpie.<br />
<br />
This year I am going to get a bigger pumpkin and I may just write both the thankful comments the Count Your Blessings on the one pumpkin. <br />
<br />
<strong>Message in a Tree</strong> is from BHG<br />
<div class="slideImgContainer">
<a href="http://photos.bhg.com/category/winners/id/14" jquery1318781165706="14"><img alt="Tree of Thanks" src="http://images.meredith.com/bhg/images/2009/05/p_100909083.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="slideImgContainer">
Show your guests that you're thankful for them this fall with a tabletop tree full of leaves and personal messages. Arrange twigs vertically in an urn and anchor the arrangement with decorative rocks. Write short messages on decorative paper, punch a hole in one corner of each piece, and tie the notes to the twigs using skinny ribbon. Fill in spaces with colorful faux leaves, found at a crafts store. For added fun, sprinkle blank cards and writing utensils on the table for guests to write their own messages to add to the tree. You can even change this around a bit so that its not for a Thanksgiving meal but for the month for your family each writing messages for each other through out the month!</div>

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheuzVI9eiqP6ai61exz0ElgsDh0EQTlg_hVdY7C_ki0F1Z4EWSsVeNBd1vyhul6nhgg8O2NJ-oKRIt62KZZwSnEnhqMnMq5tIa34YRjZjDx6EjQwYP828r2FBVJKjerdUnWOuaSIZ1ukIx/s1600/IMG_4278.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEheuzVI9eiqP6ai61exz0ElgsDh0EQTlg_hVdY7C_ki0F1Z4EWSsVeNBd1vyhul6nhgg8O2NJ-oKRIt62KZZwSnEnhqMnMq5tIa34YRjZjDx6EjQwYP828r2FBVJKjerdUnWOuaSIZ1ukIx/s640/IMG_4278.JPG" width="492" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
These are a wonderful class treats for my boys classmates! It's a great alternative to Halloween candy treats and not to mention practical. This would also make a great craft for a Halloween party!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You will need: pencils, styrofoam balls, orange and black craft paint, googly eyes, green pipe cleaner, black foam craft paper, sharpie, white crepe paper or fabric.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Insert your pencil through the foam just enough to give it a steady grip. If you have older kids you can paint it on the pencil but if it's younger kids I would put it on a stick and have them paint it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong>For the Bat:</strong> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Glue googly eyes and on the black foam draw & cut out some bat wings. Glue those to the back. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong>For the Pumpkin:</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Using a sharpie draw the face and then at the top make a little hole for the green pipe cleaner to go in and glue to secure. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<strong>For the Ghost:</strong></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I would use white fabric just to ensure that it will last longer. Crepe paper is sturdy but it will tear. Place fabric over plain styrofoam ball. Once you have figure out placement glue the fabric to the inside. Using a sharpie draw face on fabric. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
As moms we are constantly going.<br />
Cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, blogging :), playing, running errands, excercising, grocery shopping, decorating and finding ways to teach our children values, morals and life. There is no end to our wonderful work.<br />
<br />
I am relearning the art of finding wonder and fulfillment in the little things in my day.<br />
.<br />
I love the awe and delight that is captured in my son's face in this picture. <br />
I long for that but sometimes life gets in the way. The busyness of life blurs my vision and in a blink of an eye, I miss the moment.<br />
<br />
Oh, to experience that childlike wonder again.<br />
<br />
To stop and enjoy the little things in life:<br />
<ul>
<li>When my son shows me for the 50th time his cool kick.</li>
<li>When my baby hands me the little pieces of outdoors that he finds, only his little eyes can see. Sometimes it's even his boogers and in his sweet little baby voice he says "here." Don't worry I won't be staring at his boogers with awe and amazement.</li>
<li>To sit in and listen to their giggles and playful chatter.</li>
<li>To bend down with my 2 year old and watch the ants go by with amazement.</li>
<li>To stop and listen to the birds chirping outside my window.</li>
<li>To just sit and play.</li>
<li>To be okay with the mess and just enjoy watching my sons revel in it. (that's a hard one)</li>
</ul>
