A Mom Not a Professional Nor a Perfectionist: tea party

I love to have fun with paper, food, paint, music and events and just being creative in all of it. However, I don't feel the need to be a perfectionist nor a professional in any of my creations. I wish I could have a blog JUST about the art of cooking, photography, sewing, art, mothering, jewelry making, card making, dancing, gardening, deep spiritual thoughts, decorating, poetry, party planning, baking.... and the list goes on but I can't. I don't think I was created with the ability to focus on one task. I like all of these hobbies layed out before me and the freedom to pick whatever I choose depending on the mood or time I have.

fun fondant cake

Fondant is becoming quite popular in my home. My 3yr old came up to me the other day and says "mom I have been eating your fondant" little did I know he has been paying attention to what I say when I am baking.

Ladies Tea: simple decorating ideas

I made a pedestal by placing a plain white plate over a tea cup.
I made about 6 of these in different colors and scattered them through out the dessert table with flower cookies coming out of them. I placed flower styrofoam inside the cup so the flower cookie would stand up and then covered it w/ tissue paper.
I just stacked some colorful tea cups and plates to make a cake pedestar and placed some Lemon cheese cake bars (recipe in post below).
