I love to have fun with paper, food, paint, music and events and just being creative in all of it. However, I don't feel the need to be a perfectionist nor a professional in any of my creations. I wish I could have a blog JUST about the art of cooking, photography, sewing, art, mothering, jewelry making, card making, dancing, gardening, deep spiritual thoughts, decorating, poetry, party planning, baking.... and the list goes on but I can't. I don't think I was created with the ability to focus on one task. I like all of these hobbies layed out before me and the freedom to pick whatever I choose depending on the mood or time I have.

Thanksgiving Activity: Thankful Pumpkin

Starting at the end of October we have this family tradition in our home.  We talk about what were thankful for that day and then I write one of those things down, that we each share on our pumpkin.  Last year we used 2 pumpkins one with COUNT YOUR BLESSING written on it and the other smaller one had our thankful comments on it. We start  from the center and then we go around it with our thankful things until it's completely covered with our blessings.  I just used a black sharpie.

This year I am going to get a bigger pumpkin and I may just write both the thankful comments the Count Your Blessings on the one pumpkin.

Message in a Tree is from BHG
Tree of Thanks
Show your guests that you're thankful for them this fall with a tabletop tree full of leaves and personal messages. Arrange twigs vertically in an urn and anchor the arrangement with decorative rocks. Write short messages on decorative paper, punch a hole in one corner of each piece, and tie the notes to the twigs using skinny ribbon. Fill in spaces with colorful faux leaves, found at a crafts store. For added fun, sprinkle blank cards and writing utensils on the table for guests to write their own messages to add to the tree. You can even change this around a bit so that its not for a Thanksgiving meal but for the month for your family each writing messages for each other through out the month!
